February 6,2009- Vince goes to his first specialty show and picks up his first 3 point major at just 6 months of age under breeder/Judge Larry Willeford (Windcrest Collies). This was his first show.He also placed 2nd in the 6-9 puppy sweeps under collie breeder Judy Guthrie over some very nice competition.(all breeder/owner handled).
February 15,2009- Big day for Bluwave Collies as one of our other puppies made his debut in the show ring! Kenny (the only rough puppy from the litter) came out to play for the very first time.Vince took winners dog and BOS for 2 more points bringing him to 5 points 1 major.. at just 6 months of age! not to be out done by his smooth brother, Kenny was WD/BOB at his first show for his first 2 points! Breeder handled. (except for WD class) Due to client conflict.
March 22,2009 - Vince takes a 4 pt major Reserve Winners Dog at the Collie Club of Northern New Jersey under Collie breeder judge Patti Merrill at 7 1/2 months old.
April 5,2009- Another big day for Bluwave Collies as Kenny and Vince come out to play together again.Kenny takes Winners Dog for another point in only his 2nd show.(he now has 3 points).Not to be out done by his rough brother Vince picks up another 2 points going Winners dog and Best Of Variety over 2 specials.both at just 8 months of age.
April 28,2009 - A big loss at Bluwave Collies. As we said good-bye to Logan our 7 yr old doberman.who was taken from us much to soon! please visit his memorial site to read about his life. Logan was not only our best friend and faithful companion for 7 years, but he was also the gardian of the Collies and helping me raise my first litter. He will be sorley missed!
May 30,2009 - Vince goes WD/BOW for a 4 pt major under Judge Carl Liepmann at just 10 months old. Now only neededing 2 points to finish, Vince will be not only our first Ch. but our first home bred Champion.
June 6,2009 - Vince goes WD/BOW under respected Collie Breeder Judge Pat Jung at Greenwich K.C. (Under CCCT supported entry) for another point. Vince now has 14 points both majors at just 10 months old.
June 20,2009 - Vince goes BOW/BP for his final point to finish under Judge Wendy Willhauck at just 10 months old. Vince later on took a puppy herding group 3 (following in mom's footsteps who took a puppy herding group 3 at 8 months)..Not to be out done by her son, Lyric goes RWB over 2 really nice bitches.Her first time out since the nationals at the begining of April.Ironically, this is the same show Vince's grandmother finished at only 3 years earlier and Mr. Willhauck finished Riot the bearded collie I was handling.
July 4,2009- Vince's first time out as a special (though not seriously competing at this time) was BOS.Lyric's 2nd show back since Mid-hudson goes RWB over 2 other really nice quality bitches.
July 5,2009 - Vince takes BOS again. Kenny takes WD/BW for another point giving him now 4 points (nice way to end his show season as he is about ready to change his clothes for a more adult look). Not to be out done by her 2 kids, Lyric takes WB/BOS for another point at only her 3rd show out since taking a very long hiatis.
July 18,2009 - Vince goes BOV his 2nd weekend out as a special Not to be outdone by her son by any means.. Lyric goes WB/B/BW for another point bringing her to 7 points now needing only 2 points to minor out.
August 23,2009- Vince goes BOV at Newtown K.C. under Judge Larry Terricone... In Jr Showmanship Nikki (youngest niece) takes Lyric for the first time and takes first place in a class of 4 kids and Stephanie and Tristan take 2nd place.
September 6,2009- Vince takes BOV (over 3 other very nice specials)at Westchester K.C. in Terrytown,NY under judge Roger Hartinger.. Later Vince and I are pulled from the cut in the herding group. almost had a group placement til Vince decides to take a gallop at the very last critical moment, This boy always has some trick up his sleeve!
September 19,2009 - Vince goes BOV at the Ox Ridge Kennel club under Raymond Filburn. dispite starting off acting like a puppy vince quickly recovered to take this win.The following day Vince goes BOS under Judge Robert Futh.Dispite all the yellow jackets buzzing around and landing on his nose, Vince showed his little heart out!
