( GO REST HIGH ON THAT MOUNTAIN, YOUR WORK ON EARTH IS DONE!)
It is with great saddness that we announce the passing of our English Springer Spaniel "Ashly",This is espcially difficult for us as we have now lost two of our best friends in a year. Ashly was the Grandma dog around here helping to raise a litter of puppies as well as teaching all the youngsters that came into the house (all the Collies and our Doberman that we lost last year). Our little Ashly was 15 1/2 yrs old and was the first dog I ever bought with my first paycheck from my first job, she has been around half of my life and so hard to let her go. Her little body was just becoming weaker and weaker she could no longer stand or sit and itch without falling over, her hind end so stiff from the bad artheritis in her back, it seemed to hurt to lay all the way down, so at times she would lay her front half down and leave her butt in air! Perhaps the most dreadful thing is watching her literally waste away, no muscle tone just all bones and her coat was thinning. she went from 32 lbs in Oct 2009 to about 22 lbs at present. The Vet seemed  to think (as well as I) she had some sort of cancer or tumor, but w/out doing ultrasound we would not know for sure (but was not going to put a 15 yr old dog through that).

Ashly was the best little dog always enjoyed swimming, playing in the snow and even hunting (which she was never trained to do) but in her very short hunting career she managed to get a few birds. Ashly will be sorely missed around here, things will not be the same with out her, she was a delight to live with and her antics will keep me laughing, like how she literally climbed a tree to get her ball.Ashly will come home one last time where her ashes will be burried in our memorial spot in the back yard under the azalea bush where the spot light shines at night and the hummingbirds come to feed during the day. Part of her will be here while I will take part of her to be with my father inlaw who also loved her dearly, Well Dad you finally have your favorite dog all to yourself.. Take care of her and my Logan and Brandy! Till we all meet again!

Please enjoy the memorial slide show I put together for my little girl!

GOODBYE MY SWEET GIRL Rest In Peace Ashly your work here is done, you will be missed more than you know .Til we meet again.I love you more than you know!

I Only Wanted You

They say memories are golden

well maybe that is true.

I never wanted memories,

I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,

a million times I cried.

If love alone could have saved you

you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,

In death I love you still.

In my heart you hold a place

no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway

and heartache make a lane,

I'd walk the path to heaven

and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken,

and nothing seems the same.

But as God calls us one by one,

the chain will link again.
