 We did'nt plan on kepping a male puppy but Lyric had other ideas for us when she whelped a litter of 4 boys and 1 girl on July 28th. Vince was the third born in the litter and from the moment he was born he cought my eye with his flashy markings. Vince is rough factored Tri factored. Vince not only captured my eye but captured my heart as well with his sweet temperament and outgoing personality.He is also a very smart little guy. We have high hopes for this breathtaking little boy.
Well, So Far Vince is really living up to my aspectations... Vince's very first outing at just 6 months old was at the Collie Club Of New England Specialty show held Feb 6,2009 in Bristol,CT. This was not only Vince's first show but also his first specialty show, He never let me down,In the sweeps (under Collie breeder Judy Guthrie) class he took 2nd place in a class of 5 dogs all very nice and competitive. He decided that placing 2nd in sweeps was just not good enough so he really out did himself by going Winners Dog under respected Collie breeder/Judge Larry Willeford (Windcrest collies) also in a class of 5 really beautiful and deserving dogs. This out of the 6-9 puppy class all breeder owner/ handled.It was here that he picked up his first 3 point major ...A special THANK YOU to the judges who awarded Vince these wins and the wonderful comments that were made about him. Well, The puppy that I was not supposed to keep has surpassed my wildest dreams... Vince finishes his Championship in a whirlwind at just 10 months of age out of the 9-12 puppy classes. Vince finished in grand style going BW/BP under Judge Wendy Willhauck at the Mid-hudson K.C. and later went on to take a puppy group 3rd on 6/20/09; where his grandmother finished just 3 years earlier. In Vince's short 4 month campaign he garnered 3 specialty major reserves under Breeder/Judges as well as several BOV wins (including breed over 2 specials). In his short time in the showring Vince has gone almost undefeated winning or placing RWD at about 95% of the shows he was entered. Vince will be out at select shows as a special though we won't be seriously campaining him until he has matured some.. we are just out to have a little fun. To date Vince has 10 BOV wins and ended 2009 with 27 all breed points. I want to say Thank You to all of the judges both specialty and all breed who have rewarded Vince for his outstanding virtues and to his ringside fans (You know who you are!) for always cheering us on.... Vince is not only our first Champion,but he is our first home bred Champion as well. Vince is also the first Champion offspring for his Dam Riverrun Bluwave's Serenade "Lyric".
